AN intrepid band of 10 returned from The Orkneys on May 8 having spent a fantastic week on board Sunrise in Scapa Flow.
Clear weather made for excellent visibility, and we were sure to take advantage exploring a number of the fascinating WWI wrecks, as well the Tabarka and Gobernador Bories blockships.
We even took time out to travel across to Lambs Holm to get in a late afternoon dive off Barrier 2, where we got up close to the remains of a number of blockships that pre-dated the construction of the Churchill Barriers.
All in all it was a great week in truly spectacular surroundings - and a trip we're already looking forward to repeating in 2012.
Of course if there's enough demand, we can always look at heading back sooner....
