GOOD news - we're now able to offer a new speciality.
Our congratulations go to David - now a PADI Sidemount Instructor!
He found the time to complete his training up at Capernwray and now looks forward to teaching you the benefits of sidemount diving...
David first picked up the idea having read an article in Sport Diver. After a little web research, it looked a great alternative to conventional twin-set diving and the difficulties that can arise when you have to reach behind your head to shut down any air problems.
Having taken the plunge in July, beginning his training up in Lancashire, David soon saw the benefits for himself, enjoying better balance and a smaller kit profile.
"It has always been our plan to offer Tec courses - and now we can offer a little bit of a twist to this in that those interested will have the option of completing the course either in conventional back-mounted twin sets or with independent side-mounted twin cylinders," he explained.
"And it's not just limited to Tec divers, sidemounting with single or twin cylinders is there for all recreational divers."
What's more, David has been busy trying to create an inexpensive conversion kit so that sidemount diving doesn't have to come with any big expenditure.
