New year, new courses!
NOT one, not two, not three, but four new courses for you!
First of all, we're running a Rebreather Try Dive on February 11th at Stratford Leisure Centre where Poseidon will be demonstrating the much talked about recreational rebreather, the Discovery Mk 6.
The evening will start at 4pm in Warwick where participants will see the workings and maintenance requirements before moving to the pool, where they'll be in water from 7pm to 8.30pm.
The session will cost £25 for non members and £15 for members. Also availlable will be sidemount and twinsets for those keen to give these a try.
Next up is the Self Reliant Diver, being run on February 18th and 19th at Stoney Cove.
This introduces divers to the skills and advanced preparation necessary to handle situations where the divers interest, such as photography, or their role, as for example dive leader, effectively reduces the buddy support that divers habitually rely on for help in an emergency. It doesn't replace the buddy system or encourage solo diving but will increase awareness of the hazards of being alone.
A good course for all Divemasters and above, it requires a minimum of 100 dives and a redundant air source.
Going back to Sidemount, the Sidemount Speciality Course will be run over three evenings and one day starting on March 12th and then running over the 13th and 14th, with completion at Capernwray over the weekend of March 17th and 18th.
Our next new course is an introduction to Twinset with three open water dives over one day. No date has yet been set but let us know now if you're interested...
